Sherlock and tea at ICNY!
Hey there! So, some of you may know that the Sherlock Christmas Special has been announced for January 1st of next year, and it's going to be shown in select theaters… It also just so happens that there is going to be a huge group of Icrontians together on that day, so if you guys can schedule staying in beautiful wintery Michigan for just a couple of hours longer on New Year's Day, we can start off the year with Sherlock Holmes!
Details are sparse at the moment, but I'll keep you guys updated. From what I understand, this is likely a one off, so if we miss the showing, we miss it for ALL TIMES! I'm hoping that there will be a showing somewhere close-ish to Woodbridge, because I HAVE TO SEE THIS.
Even if you aren't all caught up on the show, or haven't seen it at all, this is just a one shot special that is separate from the rest of the show's continuity, so prior knowledge of story arcs and whatnot is NOT a must.
If you are interested, I will probably be collecting "ins and monies" to make sure I can secure all of us seats when the tickets go on sale, so please let me know!

It won't take long, they only average a little more than an episode per year since they began the show.
UPDATE: Soooo… It turns out that the theatre run isn't until January 5th and 6th, so most of us will be well out of Michigan by then. HOWEVER, it still does premiere on the 1st, so if you guys are still down, might I suggest an IC showing with tea and deer stalkers?
I was going to do a tea party type thing anyway, so this would be the perfect mash up. I don't want to do a huge to-do this year, though, so that we can just relax and enjoy ourselves, but I'll probably manage some scones and cookies. And Sherlock party favors.
I hope you guys are still in! If so, I'll go ahead and change the name of this thread to Sherlock Tea Party at ICNY.

Also, I would like to point out that it's been years since my last IC tea party, and I've learned so much more about tea in the interim (and now I have experience with the "dos and donts" of hosting IC events within IC events), and participants should expect a reasonably more refined experience.

@Sazbean, I still need to talk to the hosts to see how we're going to go about the viewing and what time would be best for the tea party. I was kind of thinking about having the party itself earlyish on the 31st (well before the New Years party starts), and then do, like, a midnight viewing of Sherlock… I'll post concrete details when I know for sure!
