Just wondering if anyone is planning on viewing the Solar Eclipse along the path of totality. I was trying to but just don't see it happening at this point in time. Superman fans should go to Metropolis, Il.
I'm trying to plan out a potential drive down to Nashville. I don't think I know anyone at the slightly closer SC area. Have to see if I have any interested local friends to roadtrip with cause that is a long drive solo.
Thanks for the info! Folks can click on this interactive map to get the start and end times of the eclipse for your location (remember to convert from UTC).

Did you meet @MikQuattro during the....2015 Lan? He lives in Charleston.

@Ryder I probably did, but this would be an "easy" add to visit friends in Huntsville as well (though that adds on to the trip time as well). Hmm, decisions, decisions.

Here is why I was selecting Metropolis. The grey band is the path of totality and the circle is the prime area.
I was going to drive from Houston to Dallas on Saturday and from there my brother and I were going on to Nebraska Sunday night. My car failed to start after a pit stop about 90 miles north. Tow: $160. Repair: $1,500+. Eclipse from my back yard: far from total, but still not bad. (It was probably cloudy in Grand Island anyway, but I didn't want to check since we didn't go.)

I live on the path of totality. Will definitely be watching. More info: https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/eclipse-who-what-where-when-and-how
So say we all.
I'll be able to see about a 75% partial from NY.

This poster from NASA is awesome. Click for PDF.

Was excited because OKC is at about 85%. Then I saw the date and realized Austin is at 65%
Am I reading that map wrong or did Metropolis Illinois move down to Kentucky?
It might just look like that. I thought I placed it north of the river.
Now I see the river.
Same.
Gonna watch the partial from the office (if it's not cloudy)

I'm sure a majority of our school will go outside right before dismissal.
It was pretty cloudy this afternoon It was such a bummer.
It was pretty cool.
Human curiosity at its most humiliating.
Is that the eclipse or is that a missle?
