Hey bro, You have seen my heatsink and I know you have both nf7 and A7n8x. By just looking at these mother boards will I have as much room compleatly around the cpu on a Nf7s as I do on the A7N8X? Right now it's almost reting on a row of cpacaters with the Asus mobo. and I just have a a hairs space between the fam and 1st memory slot.

I'm real close to pushing the button on a Nf7s from new egg but i have to know if my huge heatsink will fit on it lol..

Let me know if you get the chance.

You've got questions, we've got answers. (that's been used already, hasn't it? :hrm:;D)

I'm having a massive brain fart at the moment... what heatsink do you have again?

Gnome, just out of curiosity, how on earth did you have difficulty with the SLK-900A on an A7N8X

the positioning of it when it was in the case made it difficult for me When out of the case it was easy but there is still more room on the NF7s

Oh. If you did it in the case, yeah, I could see how that might make it difficult. I always put it on outside the case.

Oh, yah. I haven't tried the DP-102, but It is narrower than the SLK-900s, which all fit fine on the NF7. It shouldn't be a problem.

That's a wild looking hsf, Komete. In response to the question though, the A7N8X actually has a little less room around the socket than the NF7, I also have both.

good to hear. I have looked at the pictures and have thought the Nf7 wouldn't have any problems just wanted to know for sure.

Yea it is a wild looking HSF espicially when you put the fans on it. but I'm idling at 34c load 39c Oced. I need ot turn around one of the fans and temps will drop a c or 2. Just dont feal like taking it off lol..

It's got a heatpipe though, and it's performance is in the ballpark of the SLK-900, 947, and SP-97.

It's even available gold-plated. Supposedly, it's raping the rest of the sink out there. http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool.html
Pretty beefy thing to have hanging horizontally out of the zif though. :hair:
