I dont know. It he is a gamer then thats what he wants. 9600 then maybe if its out of his range.

I almost said there would be a problem getting a gaming LT under 1.4k. Guessing you looked or know of some prices.

Only thing I found around $1400 was a HP Centrino with a 9200 (32mb).

you should be able to customize this one with a 9600 for less than 1.4k
