Some sort of problem...?

Well, first of all let me explain what I did... ... Yeah, nothing. I have these 2 folders that just happened to come up. "exit skip else" and "Multi File Ooze" (In my C:/Program Files/ folder)

At random times my computer will just slow down and it starts freezing when I tell it to do a task. It will freeze for 5-10 seconds then the monitor will go Black and it'll reset...

ANYONE ever seen this? I run Adaware and those type of programs regularly but I don't use any Virus software atm because Norton sucks... and McAfee takes up a whole lot of memory. I'm gonna try Panda though pretty soon.

Well, what the heck do you think happened? Antivirus is essential, and I can almost guarantee you have a virus (probably several)... How exactly does norton "suck"? .. I mean, it works.. If properly updated, you generally won't experience any virus infestations.....

AVG Free from Grisoft is a nice program, updated frequently, with low memory usage.

Well, I never have virus problems unless I "go searching for them". I installed Panda Titanium 2004 and it found nothing...

My computer is very organized so I know whats goin on... but this problem was just wierd.

Norton is just really slow and it tries to do too much stuff. I don't like the auto stuff and it always seems to be doing SOMETHING... McAfee for some reason takes up an outrageous amount of memory and CPU usage even when it is doing nothing...

I have tried AVG in the past and had no problem with that but haven't used it in awhile.

McAfee blows, Norton just needs you to take a few minutes to sort through all its options so that its set up the way you like it. anyway, gl man! :thumbup

I love nortan, you dont even usually have to scan alot, itll detect a virus or trojan before you completely download them.

AVG does a nice job. It has kept my kids machine clean.
    Have you tried hijackthis?
They could be about anything, but trojan does come to mind.
There is something running that you didn't intend.
