Do you have a url for the product info on the 24 port switch? I don't see a model 2624 on dlink's page. I'm def. interested in it.

I'd like the switch but noticed its a managed model that normally works with a server switch. Does it work standalone?

I have to ask the same question as qparadox above. Will it work alone for 16 computers in a peer to peer environment?

I had it right inline behind the router, had about 11 computer hook up to it, worked great. I host a lan/butt buddy party and had about 20 comps. hook to it and experienced no lag.

It'll look mighty sweet next to my other dlink gear. Makes managing the folding farm easier too instead of stacking switch on top of switch.

That switch will definitely work for you, KingFish.

Bump for a very professional and reputable trader. I've conducted several excellent deals with Adam.

Good deal. Thanks prime. I assume it'll work as an unmanaged switch (which is fine with me) without the master present? One other thing, what does "bump" mean? I've seen it a few times in the trading post but have no clue what it means. Please pardon my ignorance.

A bump means that you're posting a post just to "bump" the thread back to the top of the activity list. For someone who has a good trading reputation, such as Adam here, a bump can help more people see his thread.

-- about the switch, i'm not sure I know what you mean by there being a "master present" -- managed simply means that there is an OS and some type of user interface so that the operator can interact with the switch. Unmanaged doesn't have that feature.

okay, i just read that link.. The switch is only managed by the 'master' switch, which is the only "true" managed switch. This particular switch is actually not a managed switch without the master being present. But it will still function as a normal switch, albeit unmanaged.
