Yes, the Linux parts can be deleted usually as non-DOS partitions (from a decently recent FDISK), but enable large disk access first thing if you have a HD bigger than 40 GB to play with.
One thing to remember about Linux, Windows cannot see it-- Period(there have been a few oddball exceptions, but they hopefully have vanished as the result of installing Linux in a FAT32 partition is something guaranteed to give you system flakes you do NOT want to deal with-- yes, I did it three times, NEVER again). Linux can see and work with FAT32 and FAT natively, and NT style NTFS but NOT 2000 or XP style NTFS safely yet(treat any such as a read only thing, PLEASE). If you have linux live CD, safest thing might be to run that, wipe only from within Linux run. If you want to do that, the latest Knoppix, run from CD but NOT installed, can do this-- so can a SuSE live CD.
Me, if I have to wipe Linux, I USE Linux to wipe it. But a Ranish Partition Manager run can wipe that stuff also. Let me find a link to that, or UBD (Ultimate Boot Disk) which has tools that will do the same thing.... Nice thing about UBD, is that is menu-driven fromn a DOS boot (use arrow keys, boots itself if you follow the instructions when you run the archive and make yourself a floppy that boots). HIGHLY recommended tool kit thing.
Link Here. Get the Widnows 95\98 version, PLEASE, the ME version is kinda INTERESTING and STRANGE.
UBD is something folks who play a lot with multiple O\Ss find handy.... I would attach it, but do not know about copyright things or if Prime and Shorty would like 400 downloads times 650 KB or more going through the site server in the next two days or so.
