At Ebgames we get another $20 Mail in voucher at Ebgames. Also another $10 for some othe rewards program.

I used that $10 the other day. I got another $10. So what I am thinking is that if I keep on buying $10 items I will get them free cause shipping is free for 6-12 day shipping.

I went and got the special edition on DVD tonight. Came home took out my old DVD drive from my backup computer and it crapped out on me :hrm: so I have to go buy a new DVD drive tommorow at Office Depot. This game is costing me out the wallet big time.

I got a copy from best buy today. I'm a little disapointed in the way they hacked up the wall jump. I play insta low grav 135 speed, doing crazy wall jumps was my specialty.

:( They took away my coolness.. It's a good thing I have an awsome shot.

Anybody else stuck with a max resolution of 1600x1200? In the beta, you could go up to like.....1920 x something. Hmmm.
    Any input on this?

Lets get us an SM.com server or find a good server for all of us to play on. You guys are so... dead :)

The DVD Special Edition was a limited run. If they haven't gotten it by now, chances are very slim that they will find it at all... :(

Ended up having to get the standard 6-CD version myself... A bit disappointed in that... but it was only $29.99 and there is that $10 rebate...

Well now I feel bad for not picking up another couple copies for them (I already picked up an extra copy for someone else). When I got to Best Buy, they had the whole box full of them, so I coud've bought their whole stock if I wanted... :rarr:

Oh well. Perhaps they could just copy my DVDs, and buy the 6 CD version for the ID KEY to play online.

For those of you who did get the CD version and want a more convenient way of installing (instead of swapping CDs) and have a DVD burner, you can make a directory to hold all the files, copy everything from the CDs (using the setup files from the 1st CD) into the directory and then burn the results to a DVD. This will expidite the install, but does NOT remove copy protection. You will still need to insert the Play CD to run the game. This is for convenience only and not a hack or crack in any way. It just takes the hassle of swaping CDs out of the way. :)

This tip nabbed from the forums at www.unrealtournament.com in the "General" forum.

Just got it today at the 3rd store we went to. Not too shabby so far.

The CD version I take it?
Aparently you can get the regular DVD version for $44.95 at tuxgames.com. Not too shabby for something coming all the way from Europe.

Gahhh, wish I'd known that. Stupid 6 CDs. If I'd known the DVD version was that limited I would've preordered it.

    Well how is it?

It CAN'T be as cool as Battlefield VietNam.

    Or can it?

    I'm still debating buying it.

IMO it's a mix of ut99 and 2k3 with the way it plays.

It wouldn't have helped to preorder it... Not from EB anyway... Two out of the three people who I know who did preorder it, were told that it was sold out when they went to pick it up

    $marta$$!!

I most likely will... But it really seemed from the demo that they scaled down the textures quite a bit to make it run on lower end machines. And left out the option to include hi res textures.

Plus I just blew 50$ for Unreal 2003 less than a year ago, and those servers are always empty, now they want another 50$ for 2004? And in another year I'll have to crap up another 50$ for UT2005 no doubt. The unreal series is starting to get awefully expensive.

All of the high-res textures are present in the full version. They wern't included in the demo for some reason, prolly because of size concerns.

Actually, they did the same thing with the UT2k3 demo as well.

I think they heard ya last time. 30 bucks at Best Buy, 40 everywhere else w/ $10 refund if you bought 2003.
