Horrible News

I just found out today that a good friend of mine here at work has been diagnosed with colon cancer. She has had some discomfort for almost a year, but it was never diagnosed by her doctor... When she went to the hospital yesterday for a blood transfusion, that's when they discovered it.

She had emergency sugery, but they were not able to get all of it. They said that it is too far along. She is scheduled to start kemotherapy and radiation soon. Things aren't looking too good.

:sad2:

Sorry to hear about this. This kind of news makes you look at your Folding rigs in a new light. She's lucky to have a good friend like you - be sure and tell her that we are all wishing her a complete and speedy recovery.

Let's all keep working for the day when this sort of thing doesn't have to happen to anyone.

Don't give up hope... Treatments today aren't like they were yesterday.
There are people out there that are living longer than before or who have had it go into complete remission.
    You never know these days...

Sorry to hear this news t1. :( I hope we can someday eliminate cancer.

Tell your friend to stay strong and fight.

One of the supervisors that works for me has been fighting lung cancer and now the doctors say he has cancer in his brain. Bad stuff! :(

My condolences as well. My dad had to watch his mom die of cancer, his dad to Alzheimers, and my mom's dad to cancer.

But as was stated above, modern day treatments are pretty amazing these days. Miracles happen, never give up hope.
