UT2004 Demo Issue

I finally d'loaded the demo and it does look really good but I am having a problem with my key configuration. By default the "R" key is assigned to teamspeak, I try to change this to another key and then exit but it automatically reverts back to it's original mapping. This is driving me crazy as I'm a big HL player and I have the "R" set to reload and cannot stop myself from hitting this key. If the keys are locked in the demo then I think this is absolutely retarded. :mad2: :rarr: :banghead:

Is it just me that can't change the button assignments or are we all in the same boat?

Are the keyboard assignments locked or not? That is all I want to know. I looked around the UT2004 website but didn't find anything and I'm not shelling out $60 CDN for a game I'm not sure I'll like because so far it has made me nothing but mad. Everytime I try and play the teamspeak pops up and I have to hit Esc to get back into the gameplay.

This is all I can find so far:
0.2 Features of the demo compared to the full version

The full game differs in the following ways compared to this demo:

    * Textures in the full game are, on average, 2X higher resolution
than in the demo. The textures in the demo were reduced because
    of download size limitations.

    * The full game includes over 100 maps, compared to the 5 in the demo.

    * The full game includes over 80 characters, versus 4 in the demo.

    * The demo only supports "instant action" mode, Internet and LAN play.
The full version also contains the new single-player ladder, enabling you
to play through the game while managing a team roster.

    * The demo doesn't include the Unreal editor and content-creation tools
which ship with the final game, enabling you to build new levels, modify
existing ones, and create game mods.

    * The demo doesn't include any mutators, but the full version includes
over 20 mutators offering new variations on gameplay.

    And then specifically for keyboard:

    3.4 Control issues

Some PC keyboards can't recognize certain combinations of 3 or more
    simultaneously pressed keys.

No mention of what I'm asking, I'm not at all amused here.

They aren't locked, because I changed mine. I don't remember, but there is probably an ok you have to hit somewhere that confirms the selection and saves it, and by jumping right out, it is reverting to default.

THANK YOU! I tried every button on the control screen with no luck. I will now uninstall and reinstall to see if that will make a difference. :respect:

Looks like this thread was accidently locked. Re-opened :)

Actually no I didn't accidently lock it, my little question was answered and I don't believe anymore discussion is warranted here.

Reinstall did it for me, I can now change my keys. :celebrate

No, no, nobody is an idiot. I was actually very frustrated with this tonight (as if one couldn't tell ;D ) and once pseudonym answered me I just had to lock it. :ninja:
