What's currently the best AMD64 supporting chipset? What's the best board currently available supporting Socket 754?

Thanks in advance.

I second that, the 250 Gb looks very promising indeed.

When are those '250gb' boards available? Who makes them? VIA, Nvidia? Educate me people, educate me!

I havent heard much but I seem to remember that folks werent too impressed ... that being said though, I dont think any of the nvidia boards have soundstorm either. as soon as I take a break from all this madness ill give it a whirl and let you know ...

all the chipsets are equal in speed so it's more which one has the features you want. In the past the reason different chipsets where faster or slow was because the memory controller was in the chipset. thats no longer the story

I see. The board isn't for me, I'm not quite ready to join Club64 myself . But the feature I desire most is stability. The MSI looks like it's up to the task though.

Yea that is a great feature isn't it? Athlon64 is alot of hype not that their not great but prices needs to go down. I seen they are starting to get some quad boards out I figured that would be a awesome board to have but after seeing the price of just one opteron 84* is enough to scare most people away. dude I don't think I want to pay $1400 for each cpu

Okay, I got the MSI for my client, great board, truely great board, however...

I can't get the HD LED to work properly. I have managed to get it to light up to confirm the LED on the case does in fact function, but I can't get it to work as a HD access light. I've tried many different combinations of everything, the way the manual says to do it included. Has anyone had any problem like this with this board?

The one and only hard drive is on the VIA SATA controller and working perfectly. Ideas?

    Cheers

Yes, I had that problem with both my Abit IC7 and NF7. Ha ha, just reversed the polarity of the plugs on the motherboard pins - I simple put the plugs opposite to what the manual specified.

Hmmm. Yeah I never get it right first time he he, but it doesn't work either way in this instance. I've tried numerous combinations with regard to the other case wires, but nothing helps.

It's very annoying. It makes me look like an ass to my client.
