I want to get one but wasn't sure on the best one to get. The pioneer 107 looked good... there was also a lite-on one... Anyone have experience of them? Which is the best to get. Cheaper = better.

LiteOn drives are generally excellent and inexpensive. I've got 3 LiteOn CD burners, a LiteOn DVD burner, and a LiteOn DVD-ROM, all of which work flawlessly.
In the last three years I've had 2 Liteon DVDROM drives and one Liteon CDRW die on me, all three just a few months out of warranty.
I do still have 2 x Liteon 40 X CDRW's that are working fine, they're both around two years old. Could be just luck of the draw/batch, perhaps.
I've yet to hear of any complaints about both the Pioneer A106 & A107 though, nothing but praise.
And NEC got off to a bad start with their DVDRW drives, lots of failures and poor performance, but reading comments about their latest offerings, they seem to now have their act together.
Those are just my experiences and observations, no more, no less.
1 plexter the new 12x is coming out but the 8x works flawlessly
2 pioneers. I wouldnt have bought them but since htey were given to me i didnt complain. Work great but the plextor is still better IMHO
1 Sony 4x This puppy has been great Never lost a disc and worked the best.
I have had my fair share of dvd burning thats why my collection is topping 350 dvd's I like them all but IMHO the plextor and sony inch just a tid bit infront of the pioneers
the fact of the matter is, i went to the shop and they didn't have the pioneer in stock and i didn't want to waste time so i got the lite-on drive, it was also £4 cheaper which is money towards some discs...
I'd agree that Plextors are good, I understand they're built to a higher quality than most. But, that is reflected in the price, Plextors are generally more expensive.
Still, you pays your money, you takes your choice, as they say

Cheap + good = does not compute in DVD land
Good = wouldnt know I only have a Pioneer
