Well, Sally's special smile worked a treat for her again. Purchased the parts to build her another folding puter and it's running quite nicely. :vimp:

P4 3.2 running in HT mode, 1Gig ram, doing 2 WU's. :fold::fold:

Some time ago purchased a KVM 4 port box which did not work due to being faulty from manufacturer. Got a replacement yesterday and we set it up last night. 4 puters and 1 screen, WooHoo, works a treat. :D

All the puters have EMIII set up too now (thank you Sally). :thumbsup: Love the details it gives you.

Whilst the puters were switched off to set up the KVM box, i pulled the Athlon 850 apart and gave it a good clean, all happy now. Could not believe the amount of dust it had collected. Due to some ongoing puter problems, i set that one up in Sally's name for a short time which made me "Inactive". Today i will be "Active" again with a (s)Tinker finishing.

All up Sally now does 8 WU's at the time :woowoo: and me still just the 1. :p

One thing i can't work out is, the new P4 3.2 is running @ 3500Mhz without anything being touched by us, where as Sally's main computer, P4 3.2 also, runs @ just over 3200Mhz. Time to give OC a go we think. :crazy:

This info we got of the EMIII screens. We are in the process of organizing new/better cooling, especially for the cpu's. Quite impressed with the spec's of the Zalman 7000A-CU. Bit heavy, i know but the puters don't go anywhere.

In a nutshell, more folding power for Team #93. :fold::rockon:

    Ditto! :eek2:

    But then again....what kind of toy would a "handbrake" be getting other than a computer? :D

    Jon/Sally: You sure make those P4/HT processors sound tempting...

    Dragon;
    2 of my computers have a Zalman 7000's on them. 1 is the copper/alum, 1 is the all copper. I'm really happy with both. I've switched them around, and I really don't see a difference in their cooling. And the copper/alum is a lot lighter. I highly recommend them.
    Congrats on the new computer...mmonnin's right, your addicted! Good for you and Sally.

    :thumbsup:

    Great! But, just so you guys know:
    If you're using these just for folding, you really only need 256mb of RAM at most
    You might consider going with AMDs in future because for the price of a P4-HT system, you can get like 2 AMDs.

    Yes the addiction is pretty bad in out household, hehehe. I guess since we don't go out much or drink alcohol we need a "Vice" of some sorts and Folding is it.

    Dragstk, thanks for that, might just change them to the Alu ones as we have not ordered them yet. You're not wrong about the weight, quite heavy alright.
    I must have gone through at least 50-60 different on-line shops to find one that has everything we need and at the right price. Finally found one, but their online shopping did not work. I'll ring them shortly and find out how to go about it.

    When i typed the thread title, i did not give it much thought. I should have as the replies are of the kind i would make, lol. I think you may find that title next to one about "Debbie and something about Dallas", hehehe.

    Geeky, you are more than likely correct in your statement. I did post a question regarding AMD vs Intel in the appropriate section and did a little research. It still does not make too much sense to me. Must be an "Old Age" problem, lol.

    I did think about it though, just figured with Intel and HT, i only need one case, one Mobo, one Proc and one HD and get to do 2 WU's. Looked at a few "Farming" links, but that confused me even more, hehehe.

    Anyhow, i do not wish to change this into a :topic: thread, else i'll be in trouble with Admin, lol.
