    Thank you for the reply.
    Unfortunately, the problem persists.

    I turned off system restore, rebooted my computer in safe mode, and "fixed" the files on the list you provided me using HJT.

    However, once I rebooted and scanned with HJT again, I found the following items still there:

    F0 - syst>m.ini: Shell=
    F0 - R >ystem.ini: Shel>=
    F0 - R >ystem.ini: UserInit=

    I tried "fixing" them again, but they still reappeared. My browser still starts up with omegasearch :-\.
