New R420 Info Direct From ATI

It seems pestering ATI for info on the R420 does work, or at least it does on some level.

"I was a little upset this morning that there wasn't any new R420 information out since the rumors had the NDA being lifted today, so after I ranted a bit at Beyond3D and then went and ranted a bit more at Rage3D, I thought it might be a better idea to try ranting at ATi and seeing if that helped.

So I did, and Patti Mikula got back to me in about 2 minutes with some info."

I don't know where this 26th date came from (to be honest it was never the 26th). So, you won't hear anything from anyone under NDA today. But, I don't want you to suffer unnecessarily, so here are a few details to tide you over.

1) The board is red
2) There will be an X in the name (maybe even 2)
3) You won't be disappointed in the performance
4) You will still be able to run it in your shuttle
5) It won't consume as much power the space shuttle (or a competitor's card for that matter)
6) Did I mention that the board is red?

Hope that keeps you sane for the next little while. Have patience my friend - it will be worth the wait

    It never ends. These videocard wars have gone from healthy competition to taking a darker turn. There's more mudslinging than an election year going on between them.
