What format?

Can anyone work out what format this file is in? It doesn't open properly when classing it as a raw file and trying different sample rates and guessing doesn't seem to help. The deficons software on my Amiga didn't turn anything up either (works out what files are based on their contents rather than their extension, much better system).

Any ideas?

How 'bout pointing us in some direction. Do you suspect this is an audio file, image, document? Throw us a bone here.

No, sorry, I thought I said. It's an audio file, which I would have thought would have been quite obvious from saying about a raw file with different sample rates :)

Well done Dodo, yes, it's a WinRAR file :rolleyes2

What formats have you tried so far?

RAW, MP3, WAV, 8SVX, IFF, AIFF, etc. Cool Edit Pro just asks me what format the file is and treats it as raw regardless what I do...

My Amiga would (should) have identified it if it was any of the following...

    VRIFF
    WAV
    SunAU
    hSND
    VOC
    MED
    CAKEWALK
    MIDI
    s3m
    MP3
    MP2
    XM
    CMOD
    AIFF
    8SVX
    SMUS
    CMUS
    DMCS

    But alas, nothing.

Is it possible it came from a Mac source, so doesn't have / need a file extension? If so, get someine with a Mac to check the un-RAR'ed file for it's media descriptor type, and then you will know what PC extension to add to it.

    Dexter...

    No, it's off an Amiga.
