I've got something against Powercolor also, but my feeling is because I've owned a Powercolor card (Radeon 7500) and it was clocked lower (by about 5% GPU 10% RAM) than a BBA Radeon 7500. In those days, ATI still seperated their drivers into drivers for BBA cards and Powered-by cards, and each manufacturer tweaked the drivers for their own cards. (Some folks have said that Powercolor is a quality brand these days, so my bias may be unjustified on their modern cards.)

Sapphire, on the other hand, is basically the same as Built-By-ATI. I've heard that many 'BBA' cards are actually built by Sapphire for ATI.

Just to clarify, the drivers for all ATI Cards are the same, no matter the manufacturer, the basic chipset is made by ATI in all manufacturers' cards.

Latest drivers are Catalyst 4.4. If you go to ATI's own site or to Guru3D you can download them. ATI's drivers consist of the driver set and a control panel. If you download from Guru3D, they have an integrated file containing both drivers and control panel.

The fact that your setup won't install and run 3DMark2001 hints at other possible problems.

Actually, the latest drivers are Catalyst 4.5

can you say, "holy crap! thread revival!"? lol. but i do have the newest drivers (4.5's) and 3dmark01se won't run. actually, the only build they have is the latest (330) so it shouldn't be a version issue

3D Mark 2001SE will run on mine.

    Here's the results at 640x480 (8466 points) and 1024x768 on a ATI 9200

Well yes, they are now. But when I posted on 6th May, 4.4 were the latest.

    Good grief.
