The first big step on a long (and very fun!) journey. All those folks who have hundreds of thousands of points were once in your position - you'll be amazed how fast the points pile up if you stick with it consistently.

Congratulations - you can now call yourself a Folder! :fold:

    Nice one.
It's the only way I know of that to contribute all I have to do is switch the PC on and play games.
    Brilliant.

PLEASE keep this up, Aardvark. And THANKS for joining our team and seeing a long hard one through to the finish. I know what you mean by EEK, some boxes are longer at finishing than others on WUs, but folding needs us ALL.

I started folding for Team Short-Media a bit after the forums went live, took a hiatus fro a month and a half, and if you want to see what a decent stats site thinks I will produce by mid-August, look here-- by then I will have almost a year and a third of folding in for Team 93 specifically:

    http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=21664

Basicly, after you have 5-6 WU in, this site will start to track your future folding fairly well, though things will flux some from day to day.

If you go to this page link above, on left side you will see a user ID search. Try entering your folding ID in it and see what it thinks so far, then in a couple weeks look again. Once you find Your Page there, you might want to stick that location in your favorites or bookmarks.

Do not be scared by my predicts please, we need ALL who want to fold. But, figured it would give you a good idea of how points can mount up for a single user without friends folding for him-- I have two higher end boxes folding 24\7 here, pretty much. They are not the most extreme, but not the cheapest by any means. But in my case I make a living in IT by doing things for folks who live local to me. Please feel free to ask questions, and read through this whole Team area as you have time, lots of hints here.

BTW: That first WU was a 249 point job - that may be a new record. :)

(Up to four now and still going. )

'The first step in a long journey...completed with one foot forward...' or something sappy like that.

Really though, congratulations. I remember my first completed work unit. I felt like a hero.

HUGE congrats on getting the first one out.

Now that it's done you've assumed a great responsibility. Your first cog is no small feat. I might suggest a scrapbook because they grow up so fast.

Y'know... Cog's first tooth. Cog's first steps. A lock of hair from Cog's first haircut. Before you know it you'll be picking out schools and lending Cog the family car. Then one day Cog will tell you he's found the right girl and you'll be a granddaddy...

    Fold on.

Vicodin may have just scared me away from folding for all eternity! :O

    Just kidding of course.

Been working friday and saturday. Apparently while I was gone the computer completed five more folding projects. ^-^ Happiness!

Working my buns off over here folding :p those scientists better be able to find out some sorta cure with this stuff. All these darn boxes everywhere...! :O
