This is the via based chipset neo. I just set it up and have not even loaded a OS yet. It has the huge all copper Zalman heatsink and the cpu temps are still in the mid to high 40's with a 3200+ at stock speeds and voltages. I was hoping for a little lower. Is this about right? Next... This is a 550 watt psu I have had in a couple dual cpu machines and has been used to test a couple more and the 12 and 5 volt lines have alwats been above 5 and 12 volts in all oither boxs. I mean usually like 12.4 and 5.2 etc... And its showing 5.1 and 11.65 now on this MB. The 12 is worrying me. Has anybody else had probs with the 12 line?

Is that in the BIOS or with a multimeter. Maybe the reading is off if its in the BIOS.

Crap now I'm really confused. Thing runs perfect. Just sweet.... Now my system temps are 39. Cpu is 42 with a huge zalman cooler. My 12 volt is now 11.98 and the 5 volt is 5.23. Haven't changed a damn thing.

    ???

Tex, is that Zalman heatsink passively or actively cooled? I've noticed that with my PSU (same as yours, I believe - Robanton 550W) there is a direct relationship between HSF RPM and 12v output. When the CPU is hot and HSF RPM is up, the 12v reading dips down to 11.73; otherwise it hovers at around 11.80. Now, I don't know if that is caused by extra power drawn by the HS Fan, or whether it's some other factor. No ill consequences whatsover though - rock solid overclock of 2.8@3.5 on the P4 Northwood, with two instances of Folding reliably running 24/7. (these Abit boards are voltage hungry, aren't they)

No mines not a robanton. This is a 10 buck 500 watt psu a buddy modded the 12 and 5 volt rails on. Its usually like 12.5 and 5.3 even on my dual amd rigs. I usually just use it for testing and stuff on the work bench and never load it down heavy. Its not running anything in this but the zalman fan and one cdrom. The hard drives are all external scsi. This is the big ass round copper zalman with a 92mm fan inside. I don't use the variable fan gizmo. I just crank it up all the way. Its really not to loud compared to all the loud fans I have already running in this room anyway.
