Wheee!

I picked up Mondi from the airport today at 4:00 PM EST. Flight board said his flight was going to be late, but it wasn't.....

I took him home, got his bags unpacked, and drove right back to the airport (a 45 minute drive) to pick up VoE... However, his flight was delayed... At first, the flight board said a one hour delay - okay, that's manageable. Then, I got a voicemail from VoE that said "My flight's not leaving till 7:00 PM"... Which is 7:00 PM Houston, TX time, which is 9:00 PM EST - meaning his plane wouldn't be landing till 1 AM my time.... :mean:

So, me, Mondi, and my kids hung out in downtown detroit, saw some sights, ate in Greektown, and just goofed around. We came back home, and -tk met us to hang out and drink coffee.

    Well VoE's flight arrived at 2:00 AM :D

    Me, Mondi, and -tk went to pick him up, and the airport was a freaking ghost town. There was absolutely nobody there, which is creepy because Metro Airport is very very big. It almost felt like the day after the apocalypse.

    First pic is the terminal, vacant, and the second pic is the "band pic" - Mondi, -tk, and VoE.....

    Excellent thread... You guys made it early, I'm sooo jealous!

    We shouldn't clutter this space up with extraneous comments so in going with the theme, lemme introduce my mouse and mousepad my_mouse.jpg which will be at the Lan in 2 days. To the right (Lookin rather dusty) you can see "The Beast" which will also be at the Lan, after I spiff it up with the vacuum cleaner and some Windex.

    One other thing: When we went to pick up VoE at the airport, we stopped to visit the friendly informational kiosks that NorthWest Airlines provides... Unfortunately, they seem to be running windows :eek3:

    I was in Madison, WI and their boards were running WIN98, and he was in the process of upgrading them to Win2K.

    Looks like fun guys.

    haha, at least it wasn't a BSOD. I can't wait for the LAN. Me and Ego leave tonight, more like tommorow morning 12:00 a.m.

    ;D I dunno why...that just strikes me as funny. All across the country LAN attendees are whipping out the ol' vacuum cleaner before they pack up their cases.

    Good idea. I think I will do that now. Along with putting the SLK-947 on it as well.

    Well, so far four of the recently confirmed attendees have fallen to the wayside. Tonight we built a shrine honoring these fallen heros - men who had tried valiantly and fought the good fight but finally succumbed to the darkness of non-lannage.

    These fallen heros: Mr Kwitko, Panzerkw, Wuggaroo, and MrBill.

    And if we had a MONTHLY LAN, the CPUs would not OH much at all.... :D

    I'll be watching the LAN threads and will enjoy knowing wassup, will get together with Prime later myself when I will be up in MI for other family and business reasons. He knows approximate time\date frames.
