hi help setting up raid on wd raptors
hi this is my first post of proberbly many as i like tinkering under thge hood of my pc i have 2 200 wd on 0 raid on an adaptec card and 2 160 0 raid on sata i want to put these 2 wd raptors on raid for op system and my apps and games, tried setting up as raid when booting f2 i think it says but nowt happens both recognised and in use but want them on raid windows xp pro operating system used on a abit ic7g mobo any more details you request on helping me let me know thanx again

You now have two 200gb WD ide drives in raid-0 off an adpatec cared right?
And you have a pair of 160gb drives in raid-0 Also? Off what controller?
And you want to add two Raptos now in raid-0 also? Is this correct?
Can you clear up what raid-controllers the 160gb drives are on now and where you put the raptors also just to make sure I'm clear.
When your hitting F2 you trying to get into one of the sata raid-arrays bios right? Which one exactly? Itr looks like from the spcs you have two sata raid controllers. One SI and one via the southbridge. Who makes that one?
Did you get the array created in the bios when you hit F2 but XP does not see the drives or what? You wanted the new WD's to be used for the XP OS so I'm assuming you tried to install and XP isnt seeing the drives? See... I'm just not clear exactly what happened and what went wrong where. If you were trying to install XP and it didn't see the raptors then did you remember to hit F6 to load the drivers when setup started?
Lets get clearer on exactly whats hooked up where right now and what exactly you did to get the array setup etc,

intel raid controlleyes raid was created in bois but by my m8 who i cannot get hold of to help
xp does see raptors im only using as seperate drives at mo
cannot get into setting up as raid when pc boots to set up as raid
and colud i install my ghost i have of my c: now any wiser i hope
His motherboard has embedded SATA raid, IIRC. So, the 160's are on the embedded SATA RAID, no card at all. I'll let you two hash this thing out to a solution, figured could clarify just this point.
