9800 pro ...it's not certified for the x1000's or something like that.

I have a 9600 Pro. Just wanted to make sure it would be worth the trouble.

Sounds like it would be. :)

The Control Panel version of the driver suite includes the classic non-resource hogging config and adjustment tool for your graphics card, which basically works as an extension of the Windows Display Properties.

The Control Center version of the driver suite is pretty much the same as above, but with a lot more features. The drawbacks of using this package over the Control Panel package are i) it requires the .Net Framework to be installed and ii) it is quite a demanding application resource wise, especially when compared with the Control Panel.

    :)

81.84 beta has been available for a while, though I'd post as I see no reference here.

I find them fast but unstable. Definite performance improvement over 78.01, but for example regular crashes in 3DMark05. I am actually going back to 77.72, which is the latest recommened by my motherboard and graphics card maker, becasue I think 78.01 is broken. Problems might also be related to nForce 6.66 - I should not have upgraded both GeForce and nForce on the same day, now I don't know for sure what is causing the problems.

Oh, and 81.84 supposedly has some interesting features:
Switch SLI on/off without a reboot. This worked ONCE. Only ONCE! Thereafter, it went back to forcing a reboot.
Support multiple vendor SLI combinations, presumably still requiring the same BIOS version.
Multi-threading enhancements (For all you lucky dual-processing gurus)

    Cheers!

beta catalyst 5.10a is out too with that opengl tool ...want the link? The way it reads is like it's only been tested on x1000's though. Idunno if or what it can do for older models.

Idunno if you post beta drivers here or not spinner but here they are if you need them ...if not you can remove the post. Thanks!

    beta forceware 82.10
    beta catalyst 5.10a

I tried it with the 9800 pro. It was the control center and I lost a few hundred points in AquaMark 3 so I uninstalled it immediately. I guess it's on meant for the x1000's.

I do post beta Nvidia drivers, but the 8210's aren't mainstream enough to warrant posting. I currently don't have a space here to post beta ATI drivers. Mainly because they always release new officials every month, so there isn't much wait time for fixes.

    Thanks mate. :)

Just tried the 5.11 Catalyst drivers and just in normal use it made everything lag a lot. I went back to 5.10 and its fine now.
