In your opinion, which would OC better- an ASUS Ti4200 128mb, or a Leadtek Ti4400 128mb?

ASUS V9280TD is 3.6ns TSOP; Overclocker Cafe apparently got one up to 325/639 stable... is that typical?

Leadtek A250-TD is 3.6ns BGA; Some French review site got it to 285/620 (I hope that's not typical!); GamePC got it to 310/720

Anything else I should look @ in the $100 range? The Visiontek 9100 is clocked @ 250/250, and that's the fastest around; I doubt I'll get more than 275/275 out of it, and there are no Radeon 8500 128mb cards around anymore... the 9200 and 9000 suck apparently, so they're out... the fx5200 sucks... the Tis are refurbished, so they're only ~$100, but I'd be willing to cough up $125-$130, maybe maybe$140 (before tax & shipping)... I just need something to hold me over until the R420/NV40 come out (I can't handle the R128 in the K7D anymore) and I'd like to get as much performance out of it as possible. At this point, I'm open to pretty much anything, as I've never looked @ "budget" cards, and so I have essentially no idea wth I'm doing...

hey geeky, you might want to hold out for a bit, i'm getting a replacement Ti4600 soon from newegg, because the one i have right now just died, so maybe we can work something out.

y even bother with sumthing in the 100 range, ur the dude building the crazy AMD MP board :)

cause I want something fast for teh crazy MP system, and the 9800 Pro 256/5900 Ultra aren't fast enough (compared to say an 8500 or ti4600) to justify $500... so, I'm going to wait for the NV40/R420 and go with something a bit slower in the meantime.

    Geeky,

Why isn´t Matrox in that list? Your gaming rig is the Nforce 2 rig, right? Matrox with dual, even triple heads is the card i would get for a Creation box like your dual. I bet Mediaman jums right in here and pimps the matrox more but i have only good experianses with them.

EDIT// Stupid me didn´t notice this was in the overclock forums so you might forget my post.

/Me promises to look better before posting again  :shakehead

Mackanz... no problem. To answer your question though...
Your gaming rig is the Nforce 2 rig, right?

Well... yeah... kind of... The dually system is something I'm doing pretty much just because I want to... I don't have much actual use for it (beyond folding of course :D)... I do have a 12x12" Wacom intuos 2 tablet, but the last time I actually used it was probably a year ago, if not more... If I had room for more than one monitor, I'd go with either a Matrox or ATi card, but I practically have to cover myself with butter or vaseline or something just to get into my room as it is; I mean, I don't clean my room anymore. No, I conduct archaeological digs. So although I wouldn't mind another monitor, I don't think I'll be buying one for a while...
