Importing Mail from Eudora (Mac) to Outlook (PC)

Anyone ever moved messages from the Mac version of Eudora (v 5.1) to the PC version of Outlook?

My colleague is attempting to do this, and my research said that we should just be able to take the mailbox file, and a ".mbx" to it, upload it to an FTP to refomat the text to PC ASCII, then import in Outlook, but that didn't work.

Any helpful suggestions folks?

Take file write to your FTP server, stick Eudora for PCs on PC, transfer file onto PC, import into Eudora, then export from Eudora on PC into Outlook Express export, Import from Outlook Express exported file into Outlook. How WELL this works will depend on Outlook version that ultimate target is, and OE version used to export before importing into outlook. sorry, no xref for THAT version works with version data, hate Outlook, but that process with some experimentation does work, have done this for clients.

IF you want to do the pure text export, export EMAIL MESSAGE BY EMAIL MESSAGE, or you will get hash in the index in the MBX that will confuse outlook no end.

The only OTHER way I know to do this is to see if Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac OS\X can import it, that can export in file kinds that Outlook for XP can import.(YES, it is officially out, the Mac folks get Microsoft Office 2004 first).

    Mr. K,

yeah, that's where we started, I was just hoping for a way to do it without installing Eudora PC as that site and John D recommended. Oh well, if that's the answer, then that's what we'll do. Thanks guys.
