edited May 2004 in Hardware
hi im getting a AMD 64 3400 CPU ... what GPU would work best ....
ATI Radeon 9800XT or GeForce FX 5950?

i had a Radeon 9600XT and stupidly got rid of it to get a GeForce FX 5700 ultra what a mistake... the FX looked a hell of a lot nicer but diden't run that well... mu ATI ran lovely on 8AA & 16AF...
so im stuck on what to do??? please help me before i go crazy :eek2:

I have an ASUS 9800xt, running with an Athlon 64. Seamless and absolutely kickass :D

But if you have a nice budget, Id suggest waiting for the X800 xt as that is a killer card ;)

If you want the best and cost isn't the biggest concern I second Dan's recomendation of the X800 xt. If cost is an issue then one of the 9800 Pro's is for you without a doubt. ;)

ATi's cards are still faster and have better image quality than nVidia's cards. Depending on your budget, go for a X800 XT Platinum, a X800 Pro, a 9800XT, or 9800 Pro.
