Can't get rid of Trojan Downloader.istbar.3.BE

Hi, I've been getting slightly deranged trying to rid my self of the above trojan, and am hoping that someone here my be able to help me out. This is my first post, so apologies for being a bit of a newbie!
I've already done a scan with AVG 6.0 (Free version), Spybot S&D (most recent version), and Adware 6, all with the most current updates, all of which failed to find it. However I know it's still there as AVG occasionally flashes up a message saying that it has detected the trojan in C:\System_Volume_Information\_Restore.... and I am continually getting a dialler attempting to download and tonnes of adware getting through my firewall.
To make matters worse it appears to have managed to block my access to any site that has anything to do with internet security, especially any which have any downloads that may help to remove it.
I've done a Google search but found nothing for this particular type, and searched this forum to see if anyone else has had the same trojan solved. I've also managed to get onto Symantec's site (after a lot of trouble) and they don't seem to have any info regarding it.
I've finally managed to get onto a site and download Hijack This and have attached the log below. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark.

Wow.. Welcome to short-media. Okay, I see that you've run AdAware + Spybot Search and Destroy.

Let's start with the ones that really jump out at me: Delete ALL of the "hosts" entries to restore access to all the websites that you can't get to. Get rid of all of the following:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.ask.co.uk/
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file)

You could try downloading the trial version of norton antivirus and running it:

Scroll down to the link: "Online Virus and Security Check"

Found several removal guides for ISTBar. Ad-Aware should do it, as should Spybot. They also include manual removal instructions.
