Alright. Working on a PC right now that's doing a lot of annoying crap. I'm still not confident enough in myself to go removing stuff with hijackthis without first consulting the almighty spyware gods of Short-Media. Could you please help me out and tell me what to remove? We've got lots of toolbars, popups, and overall annoying things going on. Thanks a lot!

Give it a onceover with Spybot and Ad-Aware first, repost the log, and we'll manually remove what's left.

Instructions for updating and using both can be found here.

They've already been run 2 or 3 times. Each time they detect more, and each time they "remove" them. On restart, much of it returns.

Okay, post the latest log and we'll work off of that.

    That is the latest log!

I know what I'm doing with spyware up until using hijackthis. Removing spyware is probably what I do most at work. Generally Ad-Aware and Spybot take care of the problems. If I need to use hijackthis, I post the log on here asking for help. This happens to be seperate from work, but something I do on the side.

I don't trust myself enough with hijackthis to just go fixing entries. That is why I'm double checking here. Now could you please just take a look and quit asking for what I've already given you. Thanks. Sorry for being rude, but I have a nasty headache and this computer is pissing me off.

You said you ran Ad-Aware and Spybot, but I see a lot of spyware programs that those programs pick up. Are you sure you have the latest definitions for both? If you do, then we can move on with the HJT cleaning. If not, you should update them, then rerun.

If you're ready for the HJT cleaning, boot into safe mode and delete the following:

Wow, that's a lot of crap in there. When you're finished, install SpywareBlaster, found on the Security Downloads page. Post another log after you're finished.

In the future, be a little nicer, too. We don't get paid for this, and we're not here to serve you. The rules of etiquette apply to you too.

    Thank you for helping me.

I'm sorry I came across as rude. My frustration spilled over into here. I totally appreciate everything you guys do. And I understand I'm not above the rules of etiquette.

I can't express enough my appreciation for having all you guys around. This is a great place.
