dMTkc Error

Hey, I'm new here and I'm not all that knowledgeable in the spyware field. So I'm hoping that someone who is can help me. I'm running Windows 98 and a Juno browser. Since yesterday, when I get to the Juno homepage i get this IE Script Error. It says that 'dMTkc is null or not an object'. When clicking yes or no the error window stays there and this other little pop-up window comes up, then disappears before I can close it. I downloaded CWShredder and HijackThis today, and I have Ad-aware 5. something. Are there any more programs I might need?

But here's my Hijackthis log:

alright well first off you need to run Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy (maybe CW Shredder does that too) and remove EVERY ONE OF THE FILES IT FINDS. at the moment your HJT log isn't even work looking at since its full of a ton of crap. a TON of CRAP.
do that, and get back to us :D

Ad-Aware 5 hasn't been updated in over a year. You need to download the latest release, plus Spybot S&D. Both can be found here, and instructions on updating and running each can be found here. When you're finished cleaning out with those programs, post a fresh HiJackThis log.

Another local. Michigan is pretty decently represented here on short-media. Welcome aboard! As Kwitko said, you definitely need to be running the latest versions of these tools in order to have them be even remotely effective.

Hi. Like the initiator of this thread, I am new here... and techno. challenged. I just recently ran the latest versions of Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy, multiple times, removing everything it said. Spybot keeps to keep coming up with things, where as Ad-aware was done after (maybe) two times. This seems to have gotten rid of my Script Error problem (but I am still having a "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to..." Are these related?). My question here is, here is my log, but I don't know how to read it. Could someone please review it with me and let me know which ones are real dangers and which are okay?

    Lets start with this:

ALL the R1's and R0's except for this one get deleted:

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dellnet.com/

When done, restart into safe mode if you are not running HTJ in safe mode now, rerun Hijack This! and post the log from that run after going back online with a restart to normal mode.

You can save log as text using Notepad, HijackThis!, and the builtin cut-n-paste in windows:

leave HJT open for now, and do this:

    click on log top line.

If needed, scroll down to bottom line.

Press Shift key, hold while clicking left mouse button, release both. All visible lines in HJT log pane should be highlighted now.

press CTRL-C on keyboard (this is copy to cut-n-paste buffer, press and hold CTRL key, tap C key, release both, expect windows not to tell you anything).

    Open notepad, leave HJT open.

Click on top line of empty text entry pane in notepad.

Press CTRL-V on keyboard (this is paste to what you want to get data into)

Save file somewhere in My documents or to desktop as type DOS or ASCII txt file (text). That file will be there when you go back to normal windows mode.

Post file here, in this thread, cut-n-paste into browser with a post to this thread open.

I got detailed for others also, hard to know what any one person does NOT know.
