Is it just games or does anything else intensive cause it to crash. And by crash do you mean, a hard lock, the game exiting and going to your desktop, or a complete reboot of the computer on its own.

I think the MSI motherboard should have a hardware monitor that came with it. How are the voltage rails?

Kinda sounds like an overheating video card to me..... First, make sure the fan on the video card hsf is still spinning by visually inspecting it while the card is plugged in and running. If it isn't then you need an new aftermarket video card hsf. If the fan still works, then I would take out your video card and remount the stock hsf with some artic silver 5, and make sure that there is adequate contact between the gpu core and the underside of the heatsink. See if this makes a difference....if not, then it might be something more serious like a dying video card.

Ok I will check the card and no nothing else crashed and the games always CTD never locks the system itself.

Before you take the HS off run some benchmarks like 3dmark2001, 3dmark2003, aquamark. You can get them from the downloads section on the front page.

well I found the problem, heh, I suppose when you look at the heatsink/fan on a Ti4800 if there is a burn mark in the center of the fan thats bad huh? well good thing I hae a second machine (which im on now) but I dont want to buy a new gfx card, maybe I can get a new fan for it? any ideas?

did you buy it recently? If so, you could return it.

A lot of aftermarket coolers are available as well. www.svc.com has a decent supply

you could always do a ghetto-mod and attach any spare fan you have to your old heatsink/video card. I would rip the guts of the fan out, so you just have the heatsink, then attach an old 60mm or smaller, and it will do just fine....It will block your first or second pci slot, but it should work until you can find a replacement...

Good for you. Glad you weren't taken in some of the way overpriced cooling junk at CompUSA and other retail stores.
