Night vision Goggles catch Spidey-2 bootlegger
Shorty
Manchester, UK Icrontian
A 16-year-old was arrested early Wednesday in a theater showing "Spider-man 2" after a projectionist using night vision goggles saw him using a camcorder to make an illegal copy of the superhero sequel.
You may remember The Guardian reporting that Time Warner was handing out Night vision systems to British cinemas, for this very effect: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1228203,00.html
Appearently they gave a few freebies here too

I used to work in a theatre in the projection room. I wore plain clothes and after starting all the movies I would go into them and check for movie hoppers and underage kids in R movies. Never found anyone using a camcorder though.
i will be like "Hey man i went to go see Chronicles of Riddick!!"
there response: oh i seen that yesterday, i downloaded it...
IT JUSTGETS ME ANGRY!!!! heh... WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?! heh...
agreed. unless it was some movie i would never pay to see, then i could see the value of a bootleg (from a purely monetary standpoint... for example, who the hell wants to see "dumb and dumberer")
