Take a look @ this:

http://www.strattoncomputer.com/amd-xp-tmc-b.html

Think it works? If it does, I could use two for my dually... I don't wanna blow teh bridges on the 2500s... as it is, a little acetone or paint thinner or some other nasty solvent should remove the conductive ink from the L5s, so if I need to RMA them, I can. But blowing the bridges is the point of no return...

So, you think that thing actually works? Also, you think I could clip an SLK-800 onto it without hearing the dreaded "crunch!"? Would using a heatsink that bolts onto the board be more advisable (sp)?

Hmm... didn't see the THG review. I'll take a look @ it. Thanks.

It can adjust the multipliers, but not mod it to an MP. The MP mod I can undo easily. The fixing of the multis isn't so easy.

They used to sell those when Tbirds came out. AFAIK they worked well.

Now what about using them with other heatsinks tho? The stock heatsink that comes with the adapter is utter, total, complete, 100% crap. I've got 2 SLK-800s I was planning on using... the only thing is that the adapter raises the CPU a bit. would using a shim be enough to protect the CPU core?

the rubber padding combined with the shim should be more than enough support for the cpu...but then again im not 100% sure

I say try it with a dead cpu and see if it holds.
