The hardcore gamers stick with cable mice...every millisecond delay counts!

There's no difference in delay between the two mice, Lawn. It's a common misconception.

I'd use what Thrax said, or the corded Logitech MX510 (I love it:D)

Razer mice are supposed to be really good for gaming. I use a corded mx300 or a wireless intellimouse explorer. I see no difference between the two.

The best gaming mouse out there right now is the Logitech MX510. It has the highest resolution of any mouse on the market. The second-tier choices would be the MX700 (first choice for wireless) or the MX500/MX310. The 700, 500, and 310 all have the same resolution, but the 510, 700, and 500 are a little more ergonomic than the 310, I think.

I only got a MX700 because I wanted the options to set all the buttons to what I want. Best move ever, brilliant gaming mouse.

    Several misconceptions...

    1. The best mouse is the one that you feel comfortable using. Be it logitech or MS or some no name brand.

    2. Depending on what type of gamer you are... is usually what decides if you use a corded or wireless mouse. FPS gamers dont really want a mouse going dead during a game. Ive used both corded and wireless and I prefer a corded mouse for my fps games. I play cal and twl and id never us a wireless mouse during a match...

in the end... its what you feel comfortable with... I use a 5 button MS intellimouse. and I use all 5 buttons. (I have 2 of them in case one fails)

Evertime a mouse has failed on me it's because of a break in the cable. I've had the logitech longer than any corded mouse and its never let me down, yet!

Actually there IS a lag with the mx700 compared to the mx500, BUT the mx700 is probably the fastest wireless mouse you can buy.

Anyone use a trackball to game? I am more curious than anything, as I can't see it being as easy to use as a mouse, but I am always open to reacting faster when skeletions jump out of the ground (Painkiller).

I think that would take alot of skill to do ... IMO. Practice :)

If your mouse goes dead during gaming, you're a forgetful ass for not putting it in the charger. I've been an FPS gamer for 11 years, and I wouldn't go back to a corded mouse unless someone duct taped a sizeable quantity of money to it.

The intellimouse 1.1 glitches (Its optical accuracy is too low).
    The intellimouse 3.0 doesn't glitch
No mouse in the logitech series glitches.

And again, the MX700 does not have any lag when compared to a corded series.

And the MX700 puts a message on the screen and flash's a red LED on the mouse long before the battery fails. It charges very quick as well.

Right! It flashes at you and everything a few hours before it actually needs a charging. It gets about 36 hours out of its cradle before it needs a charge, too.

i would have to agree with thrax that the mx700 works great for gaming. i have not had a single problem with it and i play a lot of different fps games. my roommate did make a goodpoint though when i was discussing this with him. he said the mx510(the one he has) is a lot lighter and easier to move. i on the other hand, I prefer the mx700 because it feels more solid in my hand. i guess i like the heavier mouse. the mx510 is also a great mouse as i have bought one for my laptop, but i just like the weight of the mx700. it's mainly personal preference between the two. one thing for certain though is that the logitech mx series rocks! i had the ms intellimouse before i upgraded and the logitechs are a lot better to me. of course all of this is personal preference, take it as you may:)

i got one of the new mice from logitech, the best one in the click series, and its very nice and so far i havent noticed any delay or had any problems with it, i have been playing games with no problems (joint ops Farcry) i guess its a case of find a mouse you like

Pokesquid brings up a great point!

If you prefer lighter mice, the MX510 is very good for you. If you prefer heavier mice, the MX700 is right for you.

Me, I have no preference so I opted for the convenience of the MX700.

Just depends on whether you want corded or cordless, but bottom line is it needs to be from Logitech.

MX500- Best corded mouse out there (And what I use, I don't like cordless)
MX510- Same as 500, only cooler looking and it has slightly better optics if I remember correctly.
MX700- Same as 500, only without cords.

The choice is yours but any of those 3 will do.

Psuedo... I think you have to say "best corded mouse out there" on the 510... Saying "the best" for the 500 and then saying "better" for the 510 doesn't make much sense! ;)

CrazyJoe used to. I'm not sure if he does anymore...

I use a GE five button WK2803... I love it, but sometimes I get made fun of for even owning it.

I would have to say the mx500 simply due to the fact you never have to worry about changing the batteries. My bud has a mx700 and sometimes we are all ready and roaring to go play some 2k4 and we have to wait for him to put in some charged batteries. Same thing with his wireless keyboard.

I think there is a huge difference in response time between corded and wireless mice. especially in battlefield games.

I have 2 wireless mice and 1 logitech mx310 corded mouse. I like the corded one much better. I notice a lot of lag on the wireless mice. I hate it.

The mx310 box said something about twice the refresh rate of conventional optical mice. But the shape of it sux, and it makes my hand hurt.
