formfactor, i felt the exact same way as you about cordless mice compared to corded ones. i was rather skeptical about the mx700 due to my previous experience with older cordless mice. but after talking to a few people that had it and some excellent reviews on it, i decided to give it a shot and it turned out to be a great buy. Lately i've been playing a lot of wolfenstein degeneration mod and its response time is just as good as a corded mouse. the form of the mx700 also feels nice when using same with the mx510. i know what u mean about the mx310 too, i was at a store playing with it
Every wireless mouse I've tried, but the MX700 sucked.
we are all ready and roaring to go play some 2k4 and we have to wait for him to put in some charged batteries. Same thing with his wireless keyboard.
Does your friend leave his mouse out without charging? Because that's how long it can go without charge (I've tested mine out to 51 hours before it started blinking, and it gets 6 more hours after that). So you're telling me your friend left it out for 42 hours? Moreover, this keyboard (Logitech wireless) that I'm typing on has had the same batteries for almost two years. I bought it right when this product came onto the market.. Is your friend using ****ty batteries or something?

Batteries die because people are careless.
It's is a Mouse not a cause to rally behind. I don't know what he does or who he does it with or how long he does it. You wanna be responsible and make sure you put it on the charger when your done thats your progative. Personnally All I want is it to all ways work. Between a job 2 children and a wife the last thing I want to wonder about before I go to bed is if I remeber to put the mouse back on the charger.
I didn't say it was a cause to rally behind. I'm simply saying that the only way the mouse can die is if someone's too careless to drop it in the cradle when they go to bed.
If your mouse goes dead during gaming, you're a forgetful ass for not putting it in the charger. I've been an FPS gamer for 11 years, and I wouldn't go back to a corded mouse unless someone duct taped a sizeable quantity of money to it.
The intellimouse 1.1 glitches (Its optical accuracy is too low).
The intellimouse 3.0 doesn't glitch
No mouse in the logitech series glitches.
And again, the MX700 does not have any lag when compared to a corded series.
Never had a single issue with intellimice. Logitech mice are 2 small for my hand.
Again I say the best mouse is the one you feel most comfortable with.
MX700 does it for me. The MX900 is also very cool if you have deep pockets. The razor is also a good corded mouse @ 2100 dpi.
If you're a gamer and you want cordless then the MX700/900 has to get it. If you are not a gamer then it is a matter of ergonomics. What feels the most comfortable. Although I have large hands and the MX700 is very comfortable - (right handed though)
If your paranoid about losing power in the mouse keep a couple of AA's on your desk for that unlikely moment that your mouse may die. After a few days most people get into the habit of dropping the mouse into the cradle...
Another vote here for the MX510. I really enjoy using mine. (Upgraded from the MX300. It was a good mouse as well, but seemed to have issues with a pointer that would reverse direction for no reason... Haven't had that problem with the MX510)

/me shrugs
You can take offence, but it isn't warranted.

11 years... you would have been... what 7.

That sounds about right. We played Doom when it first came out, I would have been five, nearly six. Thrax would have been seven, nearly eight.
You've been playing them since you were 7... Wolfenstien released in 92.
I was several years out of highschool by then....
Gobbles... teh old..
