I have a job right now doing a pretty complex website for my nieghbor. I need to get a contract written up, but I dunno how to do a contract. Anyone have any good advice?
Whenever I do a job for somebody, I just go by the honor system. They get the website when I get my money. I haven't been burned yet, but I don't know anything about contracts because of it.

For this job I'll be making a percentage of his profits from the site, so a contract is pretty important. I trust the guy, but then... there are those things thats uck in the world.

At a minimum, you'll have to state clearly in the contract how the amount is calculated and how often you get paid. States have laws about settling disputes, and you would probably want to stipulate that disputes will be settled by an arbitrator and blah blah blah, jurisdiction is my city, my state, yadda yadda yadda.
Red flags are going up.... Whenever a "customer" wants to share profits from a site, it basically means you're going to be working for free. I hope you are getting paid cash up front to design the site in addition to profit sharing.
He's trying to get you to do work for him with some promise of "future success" that is nowhere near guaranteed. I would really think things through.
No it was definitly mentioned of me getting paid PLUS a percentage of profits, the last part was only mentioned since we only talked a little Wednesday. Today I will do my best to clear up anything confusing. Hopefully get paid up front a bit of the money by Monday cuase I have rent and since my IMD class is trying to keep me in for the 3rd time, my living expences check hasn't come in yet cuase the hours don't count. grr... but that is a different story.
The guy is a really awsome guy, but this contract should help gaurantee me not getting screwed just in case.
