Which one?

I like both of these... when my car was stolen my SLR was in it. So I am looking to get a digi cam. Must be v small. So these are the two of choice so far:

Canon SD10 @ £200
or
Sony DSC T1 @ £300

I know there are more pixels on the Sony but that is not a concern. Is it worth the extra $£$£$£?

Anyone have one of these cams that could give me some inside info?

Of those two, Canon, due to the lense and the interpolation algorithms.

Canon. Anytime. You are paying for the Sony name and the extra pixels.

Canon makes better digicams than sony, although I've heard quite rave reviews on the Sony 5mp Cybershot (the one Leishi85 just bought).... Are you sure you can't swing a digital SLR like the Nikon D70 or the Canon EOS Digital Rebel? They would make phenomenal replacements for a 35mm SLR.

Thanks for the comments. I agree I should consider the SLR option but I want a compact cam. I used to be very lazy with my SLR and only take it out with me for special days... Birthdays, Christmas etc. However, I have a "throw away" digicam that is always with us so I guess I was looking for the portability of the T1 as a priority...
