just clarifying as newegg.com says its for the 9800 xt and the 9800 256mb.
Turns out the ATI Silencer 3 really isn't for the MSI 9800 Pro. The ATI Silencer 3 doesn't fit because of the Capacitors and Mosfets on the board. I'm gonna have to order the ATI Silencer 1 now..... awesome, just awesome.

Better you than me
I'm just kidding man! That sucks, are they letting you RMA it for the correct one?

if anyone wants it.. lemme know
eek, hey man, you should have called Newegg.com first, to tell them it was the wrong one by misinformation on their site or something. They are more than cool, and shouldn't mind at all about switching them.
they just gave me an rma number even though it is opened and i'm sending it back then they will refund my credit card. i don't think ill be charged the restocking fee either since i had a problem with it, the wrong model.
Has anyone verified which ATI Silencer for which MSI 9800 pros? I have a pro with the large heatsink (I've heard others say they have red pros with ATI-like stock heatsink). Looking at the silencers, it sure looks like the 3 is right for this card. The large heatsink on my msi covers the memory and has four mounting holes, which looks like what the ati silencer 3 wants. But I'm wondering about problems with components being in the way mentioned earlier. And it looks like (not sure) that the wholes on the two hole version (the 1) might not be in the right place?
