Needed: Australian Flag Smilie

It is my great pleasure to announce an open competition to design a new smilie depicting the proud Australian flag.

You may be wondering why this is being announced in the Folding forum. It is because of the significant impact our friends from the land Down Under have made on our Folding@Home team. Per-Capita they are putting the rest of the world to shame. The time has come to hoist her banner high.

Dan-The-Man (Shorty) has given this the green-light. Now all we need (in his words) is "an artistic genius" to provide the design.

I'll give it a shot, but the words "artistic" and "genius" are rarely applied to me by folks with a fully functional set of sensory organs. :rolleyes::vimp:

Here's your chance to make your name in the Short-Media Hall Of Fame. Who's going to be the proud designer of our newest (and long overdue) addition to our flags of the world smilies?

Get a start here.

    Prof - I don't know - your attempt at Australiana is pretty impressive to date - perhaps we should replace our glorious flag with your resplendid Kangaroo you did for my 10k mark? :rolleyes:

    tcith, I'm highly flattered but I'm not sure it would work. Imagine what it would be like when a sports stadium suddenly comes alive when the Australian fans unfurl a couple hundred flags like that? You must admit that the lounging Kangaroo is a only a pair of silk pajamas and a pipe short of Hugh Hefner.

    On the other hand, if the AUSFLAG movement gains any traction it would be interesting to see your suggestion prominently displayed at the judging competition. :vimp:

    A combination of the two would do it for me. Necro's flag and the down undah aspect strike me as a killer combination. I do think that it should be up to our Aussie members. Let's hear from the rest of the Australian Folding Force.

    Well, heck yeah, Jon. :)

    I think the big argument now is whether we ought to put it upside down or rightside up.

    Know what I mean? :vimp:

    Though i realise this is not the correct area.

    Used paint. Image-> strech/skew. Changed % equally.
    Don't know how to make it into a smilie, sorry.

    This is 100x72. Max size for avatar is 100x100, so should work ok.

    Lord_night - don;t use paint over Photoshop CS, paint is a basic program - you just needed to resize the image to a max of 100x100 which Photoshop can do easily
