Ok I am using a Logitech MX900 and it works great until when my father whom is 5 ft away from my desk turns on his pc and his mx1000 starts up. Then my mouse doesn't respond very well, I have to move the mouse within 6 in of the base. Ive tried it with 2 seperate mx900's any clues? :mean:

Obviously your mouse is confused as to who the alpha rodent is! There are many books on this subject...

If you're already not on the same channel (though I'm not sure bluetooth works that way anyways) then you might just have ot put the base closer to where you want to use the mouse.

Ok, MX900 and MX1000 can use same freqs. AND, in this case, only one thing I know to try-- WITH Dad's computer on and yours on, then take your mouse and Receiver\Charger and tell them to Connect (press and release base connect button, look on underside of mouse for a tiny connect button, press and release that). Might work, might not help, worth a try. If no, move your Receiver\charger to opposite side of your computer from Dad's, then connect. they should interfere if closer than 5-6 feet of each other, otherwise NOT. Also, talk to dad about moving his receiver\charger away from side nearest YOUR computer. Less strong interference, better filtering with less lag. If they were real close to each other, his mouse and your base, he might be mouse-jacking your desktop instead of slowing down your mouse.... One mouse, TWO desktops??? NOT good at all, but is common frequency in use. They do each have more than one channel to work with within a small frequency range, but the laser mouse grabs a wider bandwidth in that range, so if that triplet of things doed not help, try the old FOIL or metal signal sink trick, a grounded metal barrier between his mouse and your receiver, but NOT between your mouse and your receiver. Note, neither mouse has to absolutely be in pure line of sight, though the receiver behind your computer from your mouse will not work well either. this is also true of the MX700, my receiver is right next to a cable modem, about 5 feet from mouse, and behind and to right of me. Mouse is to straight right of me. Receiver also works when far from modem and to right in front of me, 4-5' from mouse. IF I stick a grounded piece of aluminum foil between them, NO CONNECT and no workum. Foil grounds and absorbs signal. Ditto for 1-2 Mill sheet of aluminum, grounded.

Foil acts like interference protector and as a lightweight RF isolator. That is also ONE reason the PSU in your computer has grounded metal planes\plates in it between transformer and CAP arrays for different "voltage legs" of PSU (other reason for the metal plates\planes is to act as a heat sink and spreader\dissipator effect plate, but in your case the first is the more important principle to remember).
