I installed sims 2 on my computer for my little sister to play. I ran it and it worked fine. Today I started the game for here and the screen is black and I can barely see a outline of the sims logo.Any ideas what it could be?

I don't have it (yet ;)) but most say that if you didn't like the first one, you're not gonna like this one. Other that graphics only a few things have changed.

Same issue here, craps out everynow and again, seems to be vid card related, monitor goes to stand-by. Drivers are latest catalyst for 9600 AIW. Anyone else?

Perhaps a game issue that needs a patch? Does the maxis site say anything?

I bought the sims 2...it's pretty good...and could it be your monitor that's the problem??? I remember when I first installed it and tried to run it, it didn't work, the whole screen just went back, flashed for a bit then went back to windows.. but then I swiched to a half way decent monitor and it worked fine....

p.s. Killing sims is fun...I love watching them get pummeled by satelites hehe

civ3 done this to me once when i went to a friends house.. i think it may be the resolution that the game uses just may be incompatable with the monater

I have to close virtually everything ...especially folding...to play it and even then its stuttery when theres 3 or more characters in the room..so I uninstalled it :( its the only game I've ever had problems with

But then again I do need a new graphics card

I got pwned by Sims :bawling: :p
