quiet computing?

I just set up my new file server in a liquid red chieftec case, 4 zalman case fans and stock chieftec on window. Its soooooooooo quiet I love it. I was thinking of doing same thing with my main case but nervous about it that would be enough airflow. My current specs are 2500+ @ 2GHz, sk-7 heatsink (smart fan2 mounted) 1.5GB ram, 160sata hd, 9800 pro overclocked @ 440/380. Do you guys think that would be okay? I need to get my main machine quiet its killing me

P.S. in the hard drive cages is there anywhere you can get another one of those plastic brackets to hold a 80mm fan?

You don't need a lot of airflow to keep a case cool. The important thing is that you have good constant airflow.

Remember that the heatsink itself is doing most of the immediate cooling of the processor. When the hteatsink radiates that heat away to the surrounding air...you just need that air exahusted away. It doesn't have to go at hurricane force.

sweet I might do that then cause the noise is driving me mad. Cause i have a raidmax scorpian with smartfan II's as case fans with tornado on cpu cranked all the way down with a homemade rheistat (soon to be smart fan II) and im normally at 45 c.

ya 4 fans is plenty as long as you organize your wires and accessories so as they dont hinder the air from movinig. you want the heated air put off of the heatsink to be moved away quickly. that can either be done buy putting a butt load of fans in your case or just being smart about organizing and use fewer fans.
