Don't know if it's dying or not - but it looks like the symptoms of a card I had that died.
Any system modifications, aggressive card overclocking, or accidents lead up to this display? Did it just start doing it one day? It's immaterial per se - just wanted to know the context of the malfunction.
k im looking at new cards since im pretty sure this one is dead. Im looking at 5200 because i hear nvidea are the best for video (like movies) cause this is going to be in a htpc. So i need some help deciding which one to get

The 5200 series are budget cards, with budget performance. If you are looking for a replacement for the 9000, well, perhaps. If you need an upgrade for the 9000, don't even think about the Nvidia 5200.
I'm not much for watching DVD anything on a computer, so I'll let some of our resident video/graphics whizbangs give recommendations on a new card for you.
