ACCORDING TO <a href="http://www.amdboard.com" target=_balnk>AMDBOARD</a>, still-kicking-about PC maker <b>Gateway</b> is ready to start selling AMD-powered PCs again and may well do so with the launch of the Athlon 64 on September 23.
Monsieur Gilles at AMDBoard says he has seen confidential AMD documents suggesting as much, but has been speculating on the date of the deal.
The agreement is likely to extend to Opteron chips as well as AMD’s 64-bit desktop offerings, says Gilles, here. Documents we have seen suggest Gateway nemesis Dell isn't on the same list. µ
