OC GPU or MEM first?

Which would give the most performance increase? I have anMSI Radeon 9800 Pro with the XT core, 128MB.

Do both, raising the memory will have a small impact at default core clock and raising the core will have a small impact at default memory clock but the memory will become a barrier/bottleneck so just raise both, you might get more speed out of either by doing it individually but the best performance increase will be seen by doing them both.

LOL, so it is a tie... either way, I found that this card WILL not OC well past 405/378. Anymore and I get artifacting.

Are you using stock cooling? I would have guessed that the gpu would have gone beyond that. The ones I've gotten the past few mos have done between 433 & 440 depending on the case cooling.

Stock cooling yes, I simply cannot spend the money on anything right now. Though I beleive I may have put some AS5 on it before putting it in.

GPU overclocking gives the largest performance returns. Consequently, it's also generally hardest to OC the GPU.

I might pick up a VGA silencer. Sounds like everyoe is getting way higher overclocks out of their 9800 pros. My max is 389 core/ 366 mem on my 256 mb version. Is the 256 mb 9800 pros prone to low overclocs or is it my stock cooling?
