World of Warcraft Theatrical Trailer

I've been eagerly anticipating this game for about 8 months. I got to play the first 10 day stress test a few weeks back, and I swear it was the best game I have ever played. Varying, engrossing, versatile, entertaining.. Words can't even begin to describe how much I loved it.

They just released their theatrical trailer for the game on the cusp of their two week open beta before release at the end of this month: Get it here for Quicktime.

So excited, can't wait. OMGOMGOMG.

Hehe Norge and Litus have had Beta Accounts for sometime now. I am pretty sure I will be getting the game.:)

Open beta should begin here soon unless you have a GameSpy account. Then you could have downloaded the game from then otherwise you will have to wait.

Yeah, the GameSpy stress test is one week. The open beta should come up in about 4 days with the stress test transitioning into the open beta.

Yeah, a good friend told me about this game, and that he's been beta testing it for quite awhile. He says it's great, but I honestly have no idea. I've never played Warcraft. The only time I've ever actually SEEN it being played was at a kid's house who played it constantly, so I understood like nothing, lol...

I was only a minor fan of Warcraft III. I usually got my ass kicked when playing that. But WoW is so much different. The world is massive, and there are many things to do to keep yourself occupied. Tired of killing things? Go work on a trade skill. Tired of tradeskilling? Do some quests. Tired of questing? Group up with friends and take down a big target. Tired of taking down big targets? Explore!

I never had a time where I thought to myself "Meh, there's nothing to do." I played with two friends during the stress test and we had a blast. It's a fantastic game. The game teaches itself, too. With interactive help menus, public chat to ask questions, and informative dialogs, you can pick up on the dynamics of the game within an hour or two.. Atleast that's what happened for me.

Whoa, I don't know about the game itself... but those cinematics......... god help me. My first thoughts were... ok I can do that guy. Then they went to "uhh... that's some realistic fur and hair going in the wind, that bear cubs loose fur coat... omgRAWR

    I feel so unworthy :(

The cinematics were indeed amazing. :( I felt small and untalented.

I was a fan of WarCraft II and played that for hours. By the time WarCraft III came out I was in HS and didnt have as much time for games anymore. I have it but have barely play it. WoW will be different tho. I will play that one.

You didn't have time for games in HS but have time now? It was the other way around for me. I stopped playing SWG after the free trail was up because I just didn't have time. I'm almost afraid to look at the trailer for WoW. I know I'll like it and I won't have time to play it :(

    must.........not..........get...........hooked............on..............mmorpg.............again

did 10Six (3 stints), AO (top char: level 160), another one that escapes me just now, avoided SWG out of fear only, of losing that much time. Every SINGLE word I have read about WOW has been positive. I can't possibly....I end up putting in 8-12-16 hour days, day after day after day, in mmorpg's. :wtf:

I was an EQ "Addict" from Feb 2001 to September 2003. I can't say I ever really got addicted, but mostly I played because I had nothing better to do and it could keep my interest unlike most online games.

I never did like AO, SWG was abysmal, DAoC never intrigued me, Eve Online is just a little bit too much money a month for my taste, Planetside was great but I couldn't keep playing it -- sometimes it just bored me..

But World of Warcraft. Hooooo boy. Orgasmic. I played for EIGHT DAYS and I've been checking the website 5 times a day since hoping I would get a chance to play it again. Ketoooooo play with uuuuuusssss.

That was a pretty impressive trailer man... that plus your review have me fairly convinced to get this one. Is it going to cost per month, or free(incl. in game price) like bnet?

Cost per month, ~$13. I think it's worth it. Some don't.

I look at it this way: $8.50 for a 2 hour movie, or $13 for 24/7*4.

Exactly $13/month isnt bad at all.

I had time but I kinda lost some interest in games during HS. I didnt play much at all. The most I played was AoE in school actually. That kinda carried over to home sometimes. I would play it until the wee hours of the morning sometimes.

Yet EVE Online is just too pricey? I'm lost, I only pay like $14/month, one whole buck more.

Either way, I am going to be spending $30 on games now, EVE Online AND WoW!!!

    Cuase... wow.

I played Warcraft I & II (plus <strike>let's milk it</strike> expansion packs) all the way to conclusion. I never got into Warcraft III / Frozen Throne, despite the best efforts of my nephew Nate, who can't get enough of it. (It's a great homework motivator for him - no fun 'til the work is done.)

This may be the first RPG I ever take a serious shot at. The graphics alone would seem worth the price.

    Open beta is tomorrow.

If you intend to play, join the Horde on the East 2 server. I and my friend will be playing there, so you guys can have people to play with also. :)

They are rebooting the servers right now. They patched earlier and added all the talents in and completed most of the skill trees.

I have a level 15 Night Elf hunter on EAST TEST 1 right now. They wiped in prep for the Gamespy test so had to start over. He is in Darkshore with a Level 15 Pet Bear and a level 14 Sabre Cat so if you decide on alliance - look me up :)

Expect to see me there, looking like a fool since I'm an MMORPG virgin! :D Won't be till late (have to work on school paper for a few hours after school :() but I'll be there. Is it possible for me to have the images downloaded and waiting for the beta? That way I don't have to wait for the download...

I just tried to download/open an open beta account, but it wants a key still. Either means I'm lost or it's not ready yet :wtf:

Worst part is a 2.5 Gb download and then a 300 mb patch. The Version of Blizzard's Bit torrent sucks too. Gives like a 5K download most of the time.
