IS the 64-bit thing an issue with games? Is your directX up-to-speed?

BTW I personally have had no problems INSTALLING with XP; I only had a couple of older games require the "run in compatibility mode", but that was a year ago.

Unless you are playing with older games, you shouldn't be having a problem with games in XP. When we first installed XP - about six months after its release, the only games that wouldn't play were some of the Win95 and 98 era games. More than half of them would play though, switching to settings to Windows 98 or Windows 95 "mode".

Have you had Halo run on these systems before? I honestly don't see what the problem could be, maybe a A64 or mobo thing. Are all three systems running the same proc/mobos?? Different brand/model CD drives??

I'm stumped, just shooting in the dark...

You could use Alcohol to make images, just be sure to pick the right type of protection when ripping the cd, and you should be able to play the game without the cd (given that you can install it)...

That's not free, but you can download a trial version. OR just try and copy the files from the cd to the HD, and install from that.

Or you can use Nero to make Nero's version of an ISO, an NRG file, and then use Nero's virtual drive to play it back.

BTW, my son has had Halo on XP for ages, and it works fine, plus he has friends who have it on XP, and I have helped them install as well. None were 64 bit though...
