In response to the discovery of high quality counterfeit versions of Windows XP, Microsoft has launched its Windows XP Counterfeit Project in the UK.

Anyone who is unsure of the legitimacy of their Windows XP software may submit their product to Microsoft for analysis. Software that is found to be counterfeit will be replaced according to the terms and conditions of the offer.
The Windows XP Counterfeit Project is the latest initiative from Microsoft to target the illegal software market. The project will allow Microsoft to collate intelligence quickly and work with the authorities to act decisively against illegal traders.

    On a CD-R? That's what I was wondering.

I wonder if I sent them a CD-R with the hand written legend 'Windoze XPee Proffessionull' and told them I bought it off a geezer at the market for a tenner, they'd send me a nice new shiny legitimate copy? :D
