    Not too bad. Remove the following:

    Hi and thanks again!! My problem started this morning. I came down to the computer and I noticed one of my folders had been duplicated on the desktop. There was also a folder opened. I closed the open folder and deleted the copied folder. I opened the internet and noticed it was very slow. I closed the internet then reconnected and I couldn't browse. No one was on computer all nite!? I called my ISP to ask if there were any problems. They said no. They walked me thru some things and they noticed something was triggering my internet to stop working. I scanned with ad-aware se and spybot 1.5 and did a mcAfee full system scan. All progs didn't find much. I went into msconfig and shutoff the startup programs. I am slowly turning them back on to see which one if any is causing this internet trouble. The duplication of the folder is very troubling as it shouldn't have happened as you can't have a folder named the same on your desktop.

    Well I have narrowed it down to the scvhosts in the startup. If I disable that line in msconfig everything is fine. If I enable it when the computer is booting up the screen flashes black for a second at the end of the boot sequence. What is the scvhosts.exe and how do I fix this interesting problem? Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks. Zellar

    svchosts.exe is spyware, but svchost.exe is legit. Try deleting svchosts.exe from your computer and see if it makes a difference.

    I can't find the file. I rebooted and it is still in the msconfig/startup list. I did a search and it came up empty?
