Options for better signal strength

Well, after moving, and getting settled in (pics maybe) I'm back. We also got a wireless-G (linksys) router and network. I get a signal strength between 24 and 48, which is OK for regular use, but not for lan parties. What options do I have to improve this? I know there are channels in there, but I don't know what to choose. What other options are there? Thanks!

11 is the best. You could use hacked firmware (safe) to boost the milliwat rating of your antennae (POTENTIALLY unsafe, only if you go over recommended levels).

But, relistically, that's your only option.

Could try a new router. I've found that Netgear routers seem to have better range than other brands... (although that may be because my Netgear router is .11G and the Linksys/DLink routers I've used are .11B) I can pick up my Netgear router in my dorm 3 floors up and about 50 feet away (horizontally) from the router. Of course, my Netgear router has been crapping out on me spontaneously for the past week or so, so...

If the LAN parties are going to have more than 5-10 people, I've heard the wireless may have trouble supporting so many.
