My new black Chieftec came in the mail today, but I'm having trouble getting the ATX I/O shield off so I can put the one for my Umax S900 on. (Power Macintosh 9500 clone on an ATX motherboard-SCORE  ). Any suggestions on popping this sucker off?

push it in (towards the inside of the case) gently, starting with one corner and working your way around the perimeter.

When they're stubborn like that I just take a screwdriver and give a corner a firm tap with the handle . . . normally pops right out after 1 or 2 taps.

If it's too stubborn, I would suggest not pushing it in with your fingers because when it does become dislodged, your fingers might be cut by the sharp edges of the case.

    WHY mac?
Several reasons. I couldn't argue with the price: free. I picked it up at a party I went to where one of my friends brought it around. Her dad was closing their multimedia department and they were just going to chuck it. Also, Mac clones are fairly rare, and the S900 is the best of them all. It supports 1GB of RAM, dual processors, and can be upgraded to an 800MHz G4. It's OS X compatible, and is one of the very few Macs that have 6 PCI slots (most have 4 or less). It's better than my current Mac, a Power Macintosh 6500.

I've also got a Pentium 4 desktop based on an Asus P4T-E in a Lian Li case. It pays to keep my bases covered, having a nice Mac and a nice PC.

    Does that S900 have AGP?

Of course not. Macs didn't get AGP until late-model G4's, and this machine started shipping around 1996-1998.

Nice link, they're a little on the white side and a little understocked for my taste. Not to mention I have to locate a G4 logic board to get one, and those are almost as much as the thing with a case, not to mention the 3x PCI. I've got a GeForce FX 5200 PCI w/ 128MB of RAM in my stack right here, and I'm working to see if there's a Mac flash available somewhere for it (there is for most nVidia cards).
