I am using Media Player to convert my .wma, .acc, .mpeg's music to mp3's.
But I also want to know what is the best music converter there is.
I Have Itunes, havn't used it yet.

Any ideas!

I use CDex, it's a free, open source program. I don't know if it converts wma, or acc to mp3, but I use it to rip CDs to MP3s all the time. When I think about it, I don't think it does convert acc or wma, but someone else will answer that.

I think the absolutely best freebie is EAC (Exact Audio Copy) but I rarely use it as it takes a helluva long time to do a conversion.

I use mostly both dbPoweramp and Cdex. I think maybe Cdex has the edge on dbPoweramp, but there's not much in it. They're both freebies.

Another vote for CDEX using the LAME Codec. I don't think it will convert all those file formats to MP3 though.

cool...I think I'll try cdex.. does it also makes good quality music?..
cuz I know it doesn't really do that with Media Player

another vote for CDex. use the Lame 3.92 plugin with the presets Thrax mentioned and you will have good sounding mp3s

the quality really depends on your source.

Myself, I just turn off the radio and hum something else from the 70's or 80's; or I sing something classical. All the music conversion I need! :D

Depends on the source as others have said, like if you have a 32kbps file and encode it to 256kbps, it's still going to sound like crap. However, if you have good source material, you can convert to 256kbps or higher MP3 and it should sound the same to you, unless you're one of those trained audiophiles who can detect the slightest variance in sound quality. Then you'll be pissed off :p

I'm not sure, but I think WMP only goes to like 64kbps or something, that's probably why it sounds like crap to you when you use it to convert music.

oh btw, does it also depend on how the songs, mp3's was burn to the disc before?
    or how it was made?
I have this one song, it's like opera, but I don't think it is...and I rip it off the cd and it sound so shocky when she reaches a high pich... CRAP! basically
